On April 21, 2022, the DesignLights Consortium (DLC) debuted a new set of logos for products approved for the DLC’s Solid-State Lighting (SSL) and Networked Lighting Controls (NLC), Horticultural Lighting and LUNA qualified products lists (QPL). The new logos are visually simplified to be easy to read. While the new logos go into effect immediately, the old versions will still remain valid in the interim.

“As we continually strive to keep the DLC’s QPL experience current and easy-to-use, we are pleased to offer these updated logos for use by manufacturers whose products meet the performance thresholds of our various technical requirements,” said Christina Halfpenny, DLC Executive Director & CEO. “Designed to be visually simpler and easier to differentiate and read at small sizes, the updated logos also better align with other DLC branded assets.”

The updates include new DLC Listed, DLC Premium, DLC Horticultural, and DLC LUNA logos (see new logo designs here). The new logos are meant for use with all newly qualified product spec sheets and marketing materials.

While the DLC does not expect manufacturers to immediately update older materials, it does encourage replacing the previous logos as soon as possible. Old QPL logos are still valid to identify DLC qualified products; QPL users should note they may still see the old logos to indicate qualification.

The DLC logos and trademarks are valuable to all DLC members, as well as to manufacturers that have products listed on the DLC QPLs. Users looking for qualified products should always verify listing on the individual QPLs, which are accessible from the DLC website. Guidelines for using DLC logos remain the same and are enforced in order to retain that value. Full logo use guidelines are available on the DLC’s website.
