Two Northeast Rep Firms Merge, Forming New Identity

Yusen Associates and A.A. MacPherson announced their strategic merger, uniting two of the largest independent manufacturers’ representative agencies in New England and Upstate New York with a combined 183 years of service.

The newly combined entity, Yusen-MacPherson Group, plans to harness the strength of each organization to better serve their manufacturers and distributor partners throughout their territories. Together, the companies bring deep market knowledge, complementary product lines, and a unified team of seasoned sales and technical professionals.

“We’re proud of what A.A. MacPherson has built over the years,” added Joe Gately, principal at A.A. MacPherson. “This next chapter with Yusen Associates opens exciting opportunities for our customers, employees, and manufacturers alike.”

The merger offers several advantages, including a broader product offering through a new line card with a comprehensive portfolio of best-in-class electrical solutions and manufacturers. It also brings improved operational efficiency through aligned resources, talent, and infrastructure. Both companies were built on a culture of integrity, partnership, and performance; these principles will remain central to the new organization’s mission. The A.A. MacPherson Co. Inc. brand will remain active in the utility market across the Northeast, ensuring continuity for existing partners.

“This merger is about more than growth — it’s about elevating the way we serve our partners and securing a broader vertical offering for both companies,” said Joe LiPuma, president of Yusen Associates. “By joining forces with A.A. MacPherson, we’re combining two respected legacies to shape the future of representation in New England and Upstate New York within the C/I and Utility markets.”

Yusen-MacPherson Group is focused on maintaining continuity and strengthening relationships while the integration process is underway.
