OCL Printz Expands Centro Platform with Durable 3D‑Printed Shades

The OCL Printz product line brings large‑format additive manufacturing into the architectural pendant category in a way that directly benefits contractors as much as designers. The 3D‑printed shades streamline production, improve consistency and reduce the variables that typically slow down installation.

Because the shades are printed as single, continuous components, there are no seams, joints or layered assemblies to manage on site. The material itself is a durable PETG with at least 85% post‑industrial recycled content, giving crews a rigid, impact‑resistant component that holds up during handling and adjustment.

The three shade profiles – Ola, Cosma and Hela – are each built on OCL’s Centro pendant platform. While the forms differ, the mechanical interface, light engine and mounting hardware remain consistent across the family. That means crews can expect the same canopy styles, the same field‑adjustable aircraft cable system, and the same driver configurations regardless of which silhouette is specified. The regressed die‑cast aluminum light engine and thread‑in diffuser are designed for quick access and straightforward replacement, reducing service time over the life of the fixture.

The 3D‑printed shades also help maintain uniformity across large runs. Because additive manufacturing eliminates tooling variation, contractors can count on consistent dimensions and fit, even when orders scale or change late in the project. And with 11 finish options – including solid, metallic, textured and fusion transitions – designers can shift the visual tone without changing installation requirements.
