Hapco Celebrates 75th Anniversary

Hapco 800

Virginia-based domestic lighting pole manufacturer Hapco is celebrating its 75th  anniversary, marking a historic milestone in the company’s role in shaping lighting infrastructure across the United States.

Founded in 1951, Hapco was among the first companies to introduce aluminum street light poles and brackets and developed the industry’s first tapered aluminum light pole. Over the past 75 years, the company has earned numerous industry-first patents in pole design and vibration mitigation.

To commemorate the milestone, Hapco is introducing a 75th Anniversary Seal, which will appear throughout 2026 as a symbol of the company’s legacy of American manufacturing excellence.

As the company looks ahead, the anniversary reinforces the core principles that have defined Hapco while highlighting the breadth of solutions it delivers today. These solutions – including aluminum and steel poles, decorative streetscape solutions, solar poles, and smart pole solutions – serve utility, DOT, municipal, commercial, industrial, and OEM markets nationwide.

The anniversary year also coincides with the 250th  anniversary of the United States, a milestone that carries special significance for Hapco as an American manufacturer. Hapco products are American-made, reflecting a long-standing commitment to domestic manufacturing.

The company operates a 325,000-sq.-ft., state-of-the-art manufacturing campus and also manufactures aluminum flagpoles for sister company Concord American Flagpole.

Hapco is a subsidiary of Dyson Kissner Moran Corporation (DKM), a privately owned international holding company.
