Market Expands Footprint, Upgrades Lighting

The Aladdin Halal Market, located in Latham, N.Y., expanded its square footage by purchasing the adjacent vacant storefront and upgraded all of its existing lighting for a better customer experience.

The existing 2×4 troffer fixtures were removed and replaced with 136 4-FT Light Efficient Design RemPhos Linear Bar Kit Internal Drivers (LBIs) along the drop ceiling grid, plus six 90-degree power feeds, 126 seamless connectors, and 284 T-grid mounting clips with the LBIs to smoothly and efficiently retrofit the new space. With the ability to seamlessly connect up to 40 LBIs, the longest run connected 25.

The upgrade provided enough illumination that the grocery store no longer needed – and were able to completely remove – the existing troffer fixtures. The LBIs sleek design and ability to be mounted directly to the ceiling grid allowed for the store to purchase the necessary larger coolers for its expansion.

The RemPhos LBI was chosen for its small profile, cost-effective and consistent illumination, and ease of installation. After sampling the product, the operators of the market knew that the LBI would be the perfect upgrade to their new space.

“The customer liked the smaller profile, lumen output, and ease of installation when compared to competing products. Once they saw it, they were hooked,” a company spokesperson noted.
