Peerless Introduces Aptitude Configurable Linear Lighting System

Peerless Aptitude configurable linear lighting in an office

Developed to move beyond traditional straight-run fixtures, Aptitude, a new configurable linear lighting system from Peerless, expands the possibilities of architectural lighting design. The system enables continuous lines of light that can adapt to the specific functional and aesthetic requirements of a space while maintaining a cohesive visual language.

Aptitude’s distinctive side grooves support a variety of connection strategies designed to support both visual and functional objectives within a project. Straight runs can deliver focused illumination where task visibility is a priority, while curves and pivots can help guide movement through a space and reinforce architectural intent. Closed-form configurations can also create visual focal points in gathering areas, collaborative environments, and other shared settings.

Aptitude also incorporates Peerless’ patent-pending gradient dimming technology. By individually controlling each diode, the system delivers smooth dimming transitions without the visible stepping or banding commonly associated with traditional selection-based dimming methods. This approach helps support more refined lighting effects while maintaining visual consistency throughout the installation.

To accommodate diverse project requirements, Aptitude is available with a wide range of aperture sizes, mounting options, optics, controls, finishes, end-cap styles, and configurable details. The system is designed for office, education, civic, hospitality, and retail environments where lighting serves both architectural and performance-driven objectives.
