SESCO Announces Further Expansion into Texas with Acquisition of NEXGEN Lighting Solutions

SESCO Lighting acquires NEXGEN Lighting

A couple weeks after announcing its first expansion into Texas with its acquisition of ERT Lighting, Florida-based SESCO Lighting has announced another expansion, this time into North Texas.

SESCO Lighting has entered into a letter of intent to acquire NEXGEN Lighting Solutions, further expanding its footprint in North Texas. The transition is planned to occur officially on July 1st, 2025. This move will combine the existing resources and 480+ employees of SESCO Lighting with the 35 employees of NEXGEN Lighting Solutions.

NEXGEN, founded in 2016, has built a robust business from the ground up over the last nine years. From a humble start-up, NEXGEN has created and continued a growing momentum in the North Texas market. The NEXGEN team, led by Michael Payne, has grown substantially over the last few years, attracting local talent and industry-leading manufacturers to their team.

President and CEO of SESCO Lighting, John Palk, noted, “I’m excited and humbled to be able to announce that the NEXGEN Lighting Solutions team is becoming part of our SESCO family. With
NEXGEN being employee owned, we have a team who already embodies the employee ownership mentality, and we are thrilled to have an organization that can bring their drive, enthusiasm and excitement into SESCO’s employee-owned culture. Seeing what NEXGEN, their leadership, and team have done in terms of growth in just nine years, I’m certain that we wil help this team accelerate those efforts. We look forward to welcoming the NEXGEN employees into SESCO as well as their existing manufacturer partners.”

NEXGEN President Michael Payne adds, “The NEXGEN Lighting team is proud and energized to be joining forces with SESCO Lighting. Over the past nine years, we’ve worked tirelessly to build a culture centered on service, innovation, and lasting partnerships in the North Texas market. As a company founded on the principles of employee ownership and entrepreneurial spirit, we see this as a natural next step in our journey. Becoming part of the SESCO family not only gives our team access to broader resources and opportunities but also aligns perfectly with our core values. We are excited about what the future holds and confident that we will continue to deliver exceptional value to our clients, partners, and team members.”
