Designer and manufacturer of LED lighting and electrical solutions Luceco Group has announced a collaboration with the Electrical Contractors Association’s (ECA) Leading the Charge digital series.

Leading the Charge is a collection of films, podcasts, and articles that explores the sector’s pivotal role in realizing the UK’s energy security and net zero ambitions. Topics include renewables, energy storage, retrofitting, automation, and electrical safety. As well as raising awareness of these key issues, the series aims to help inspire the next generation of installers coming into the electrical industry.

In addition to Luceco Group, the venture is supported by a select group of industry experts. For Luceco, the project was a perfect alignment given Luceco’s commitment to achieving net zero and tackling climate change.

Luceco works to understand the sustainable ambitions and visions of its customers. The company shares this goal of a collective journey towards sustainability, which is why its commitment to net zero goes beyond product development to business operations, right through to its culture and people.

Luceco achieved its goal of making its own operations carbon neutral in 2021 and continually strives to reduce its carbon footprint, targeting a reduction of 42% of its scope 3 emissions by 2031.

Key developments of the Luceco Group include the recent acquisition of Sync EV, a leading manufacturer of domestic electric vehicle chargers. This has enabled Luceco customers to adopt even more lower-carbon alternatives from a brand they know and trust. In addition, as the demand for safer, cleaner, and more efficient alternatives continues to grow, Luceco has committed to offering the most efficient lighting products with the lowest carbon footprint in the industry.

The group is also aiming to double annual sales of low carbon products by 2025, by promoting and further developing these product categories to aid with the decarbonization of residential and commercial spaces.

Simon Shenton, head of LED Development at Luceco, added, “We felt the core message and timing of the Leading the Charge campaign seemed a great fit for Luceco and aligned perfectly with our own net-zero ambitions and goals, so we’re delighted to be part of it and very much look forward to its success.”

ECA is the UK’s largest trade association representing electrical, electrotechnical, and other engineering contractors in England, Wales, and Northern Ireland.

Launched at the end of September 2022, the Leading the Charge videos and other media can be found here. New content will also be published on social media each week until Christmas.
