Luxxbox Debuts Kurtain Stratum, a New Two-Tiered Solution in the Kurtain Series

Luxxbox Unveils Kurtain Stratum

Building on the lighting performance and sustainable construction of its predecessor, Kurtain, Luxxbox has introduced the Kurtain Stratum. This new pendant introduces the added benefit of a two-tiered design. The dual-layer structure creates a chandelier-like effect and delivers enhanced sound absorption, bringing both elevated performance and bold visual presence.

Offered in three sizes to accommodate different ceiling heights and spatial requirements, Kurtain Stratum also provides designers the ability to select from 77 premium colors. Designers can mix and match two colors across the layers, creating anything from refined tonal pairings to bold, high-contrast statements. The layered wave-fold form not only enhances acoustic control compared to the single-layer model but also allows for striking customization across diverse design contexts.

Crafted from 100% Camira Blazer wool, a naturally renewable and fully compostable material, Kurtain Stratum meets multiple environmental benchmarks, including Indoor Advantage™ “Gold” certification and EU Ecolabel compliance. The dual-layer construction is engineered for performance, achieving a Noise Reduction Coefficient (NRC) of 0.85 in testing to international standards, ensuring superior acoustic control.

Kurtain Stratum also offers versatile lighting performance, with output options up to 7,559 lumens in high-output configurations suitable for both ambient and task lighting. Designers can choose from three color temperatures—3000K, 3500K, or 4000K—to set the desired mood or coordinate with surrounding fixtures. Flexible control options include 0–10V dimming, optional Bluetooth connectivity, and tunable white technology, supporting dynamic lighting schemes and circadian lighting strategies.

“Our focus on both form and function is evident in every detail of Kurtain Stratum,” says Jason Bird, Founder and Creative Director of Luxxbox. “It is a pendant that contributes to a more comfortable environment but also makes a strong visual statement,  delivering results that can be seen, heard, and felt.”

Height-adjustable suspension cables allow for precise positioning, while multiple canopy options enable seamless integration across a variety of architectural contexts. This adaptability makes Kurtain Stratum a versatile choice for luxury residences, corporate offices, hospitality venues, educational spaces, healthcare facilities, and public gathering areas.

Manufactured in Luxxbox’s California-based facility, Kurtain Stratum delivers an elevated design solution that enhances both the aesthetics and performance of a space.
