Intermatic Introduces New ELC Series Electronic Photocontrols

Intermatic

Intermatic LLC has announced the launch of its new ELC Series Fixed Mount Electronic Photocontrols, a budget-friendly, LED-compatible alternative to thermal photocontrols. The expanded product line features five new SKUs, offering unique mounting styles for various outdoor applications.

“Converting traditional light fixtures to LED provides lasting energy savings and lower operating costs,” says Taylor Hershoff, product marketing manager at Intermatic. “However, if LED fixtures are paired with thermal photocontrols, that cost savings is quickly lost due to premature failures and unplanned maintenance needs.”

ELC Series Electronic Photocontrols are part of the robust NIGHTFOX Intermatic product family. These solutions are specifically designed, tested, and warrantied to match the long 8- to 15-year lifespan of LED fixtures.

“Best-case scenario, thermal photocontrols last just 3-5 years, which means they’ll need to be replaced at least once during the lifespan of a typical LED bulb/fixture,” adds Hershoff. “For a small premium, installers can deliver long-term performance and peace of mind by choosing an electronic photocontrol solution.”

New ELC Series Photocontrols offer an operating voltage range of 120-277 VAC, 50/60 Hz, and include a 5-year limited warranty.

Features

  • Expanded Options – New ELC Photocontrols offer a budget-friendly, LED-compatible alternative to thermal photocontrols
  • Universal Compatibility – NIGHTFOX Photocontrols are designed, tested, and warrantied to match the long 8- to 15-year lifespan of LED fixtures. They’re also backward compatible with all traditional light sources (e.g., HID, Incandescent) and compatible with multiple voltages (105-305 VAC)
  • Lower Maintenance Costs – A long-life design allows installers to sync photocontrol and fixture maintenance schedules, resulting in fewer nuisance service calls and lower equipment costs
  • Faster Installation – Verify functionality of newly installed controls in seconds by covering the sensor (unlike thermal controls, which have a delayed ON/ OFF trigger)
  • Long-Life Warranty – All electronic photocontrols are backed by a 5- to 12-year warranty, dependent on model
