SESCO Enters Virginia With Thomas Harris & Co.
Florida-based SESCO Lighting announced plans to acquire Virginia lighting and controls agency Thomas Harris & Co.
Maitland, Fla.-based SESCO Lighting, Inc., will be entering the Mid-Atlantic territory with the recently announced acquisition of Thomas Harris & Co., the 68-year-old lighting and controls agency serving customers throughout Virginia. The change will be complete as of January 1, 2027.
Originally founded by Thomas P. Harris, Jr., the agency has been led for the last 34 years by Steve and Nancy Clarke. A trusted resource for lighting, controls, and specification support across Virginia, Thomas Harris & Co. has established long-standing relationships with distributors, contractors, engineers, architects, and end users by providing responsive service and deep industry knowledge.
As part of the transaction, the Thomas Harris team will continue serving customers throughout Virginia while leveraging SESCO’s expanded resources, technology platforms, operational infrastructure, and broader portfolio of lighting and controls solutions. The companies expect a seamless transition that preserves the customer-focused culture and local market expertise that have contributed to Thomas Harris’ success.
A dominant player in the Southeast, SESCO has been gradually expanding its coverage from Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, Arkansas, Louisiana and Alabama to Tennessee, North and South Carolina, Kentucky, Texas and Oklahoma.
This acquisition of Thomas Harris & Co. expands SESCO’s presence into the Mid-Atlantic region and advances the company’s long-term strategy of expanding its geographic reach, technical expertise, and customer support capabilities through selective growth opportunities.
