Domestic lighting manufacturer Edison Price Lighting (EPL) has announced plans to relocate to two facilities – one of which is in Manhattan – to improve service, products, and delivery.

After declaring bankruptcy 18 months ago, the manufacturer has been under new ownership and has weathered some significant challenges. Just several weeks ago, it was widely reported among lighting news outlets that the company had been evicted from its Long Island headquarters of 70 years for non-payment of rent.

Despite the inner turmoil, EPL’s product lines seem to be on point. The company received multiple awards including the LightFair Innovation 2022 Design Excellence Award for its Easy-Link modular linear lighting system, being published in the IES Progress Report for 2022, and the previous year’s win at LightFair 2021 for its Infinity: Sculpture in Light linear/curved lighting system.

According to the company, these new locations will allow EPL engineering teams to develop and test new products, be easily accessible to employees and freight companies, are manufacturing-friendly, located within close proximity to key suppliers for LED components and drivers, and use modern manufacturing and powder-coating equipment.

EPL’s efforts to modernize its digital presence include updating its website and publishing new specification sheets. The company also announced that it is also converting to a new ERP system, which simplifies reporting and allows clients to efficiently access information online regarding product status, inventory, and pricing.

By Jan. 1, EPL plans to offer a quick-ship guide of products able to ship within five days.

“In order to accomplish this milestone while meeting current market demands, we needed a new space to utilize the most modern manufacturing equipment: a state-of-the-art training center, innovative show room, extensive product quality and performance-testing facility. This new facility will meet all of these requirements and more,” said Joel Siegel, VP/North American Sales.
