Early Bird registration is still open until 9/15 for the DesignLights Consortium’s (DLC) 1.5-day Controls Summit taking place October 15-16 at The Westin Hotel in Milwaukee. “Integration for the Future” is the theme of this year’s Summit. The goal is to work toward eliminating barriers to wider adoption of lighting controls and HVAC integration in facilities of all sizes. See the full meeting agenda here.

Summit attendees will learn from industry leaders, discover practical solutions and gain tools and knowledge needed to successfully integrate networked lighting controls (NLCs) with HVAC and other building systems. Summit talks and sessions are expected to resonate with an array of stakeholders, including lighting agents and distributors, who – along with designers, contractors and facility managers – often comprise lighting controls teams responsible for design and commissioning. By bringing together these key stakeholders, the Summit is an opportunity to provide input and network with efficiency program professionals and learn about available incentives that will enable future growth of NLC systems.

Networked lighting controls continue to have low market penetration despite research that shows they can increase energy savings of commercial lighting projects by an average 49 percent beyond LED savings alone and can enable an additional 30 percent savings on HVAC load if they are integrated with HVAC systems.

“We look forward to collaborating with a diverse array of stakeholders as we share information and ideas about unlocking the valuable, and largely untapped, potential of networked lighting controls to save energy, reduce carbon and enable a suite of smart building functions,” DLC Executive Director and CEO Christina Halfpenny said.

In addition to plenary panels on “Pathways to Connected Lighting” and “HVAC Integration”, the Summit will feature concurrent sessions on specialized topics, including “Horticulture Controls”, “Wasted Light at Night” and “Applying NLC-HVAC Integration in the Real World”.

The DLC is offering an Early Bird registration rate through September 15. Registration information is available here.
