Synapse Appoints New CEO

The former Acuity Brands President has joined Synapse Wireless as Chief Executive Officer.

With a solid background in controls – dating back prior to his years at Distech Controls and subsequent years at Acuity Brands (which acquired Distech) – Trevor Palmer brings nearly 30 years of leadership experience in technology and the lighting industry to his new role as CEO of Synapse Wireless. A statement from the company noted that Palmer has a strong track record of building high-performing teams, developing innovative solutions, and expanding into new markets.

As CEO, Palmer is tasked with leading Synapse into its next phase of growth, building on the company’s strong foundation of product quality, innovation, and customer service. His focus will include expanding Synapse’s end-to-end wireless lighting-control solutions across key markets, including outdoor site and area lighting, sports lighting, retail, warehousing and distribution, manufacturing, parking structures, and industrial facilities.

Palmer stated, “Synapse provides intelligent wireless control and monitoring solutions that help enterprise customers, lighting manufacturers, and channel partners manage complex environments more efficiently. Our opportunity is to strengthen our leadership in connected lighting controls while expanding the value of our technology into broader energy-management, environmental-monitoring, and industrial applications.”

He added, “My priorities include building a strong and accountable culture, deepening relationships with customers and partners, accelerating innovation, and translating our market opportunities into a focused commercial and operating plan.”

Palmer’s leadership experience across technology, building automation, and intelligent infrastructure will help provide a consistent focus on developing talented teams, creating customer value, and growing enduring businesses.
