Employee‑led fundraising efforts combined with a company sponsorship to support the Boomer Esiason Foundation.

Sonepar’s New Jersey-based Cooper Electric helped raise $98,000 for the Boomer Esiason Foundation in support of cystic fibrosis research and family support initiatives. The contribution includes a $58,0000 donation through grassroots fundraising by Cooper Electric associates and partners as well as a $40,000 Gold Sponsorship for Team Boomer, the Foundation’s athletic fundraising arm.

Cooper Electric assembled 50 riders for the 40-mile TD Five Boro Bike Tour in New York City on May 3. The team including Cooper Electric associates plus their friends and family in addition to participants from partner companies Milwaukee Tool and Schneider Electric.

“When you understand why Boomer started the Foundation and who it’s helping, it puts things in perspective,” said Tom Brady, Chief Operating Officer at Cooper Electric. “As we started to get involved, we heard stories within our own company that hit very close to home. This cause is deeply personal to our team. It was about showing up in a meaningful way.”

“This race brought together everything Cooper stands for — learning the cause, putting in the work, and committing to being better, both for the ride and for the people we were riding for,” said Taylor Hetherington, Marketing Director at Cooper Electric. “It makes me proud to work at Cooper Electric.”

Cooper Electric remains committed to supporting organizations that create meaningful impact in the communities it serves and looks forward to continuing its partnership with the Boomer Esiason Foundation.

Retired NFL quarterback and broadcaster Boomer Esiason is a long-time advocate for cystic fibrosis research and support for impacted families. He founded the Boomer Esiason Foundation after his son was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis in 1993.
