Hapco Breaks Ground on OK Manufacturing Facility
The lighting company is building a new facility in Oklahoma City.
Virginia-based Hapco Pole Products has officially broken ground on its new 270,000-sq.-ft. aluminum pole manufacturing facility in Oklahoma City.
Company leaders were joined by Oklahoma state and local officials, economic development partners, customers, construction partners, and members of the business community to celebrate the beginning of construction on the new facility, which is expected to create more than 80 new jobs and strengthen Hapco’s ability to serve customers throughout the western and central United States.
“This ceremonial groundbreaking marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for Hapco,” said Tom Hardy, President of Hapco Pole Products. “As we celebrate 75 years of manufacturing excellence, we’re investing in the future of our company, our customers, and the communities we serve. Oklahoma City’s outstanding workforce, strategic location, and strong business climate make it the ideal place for our continued growth.”
The new facility will expand Hapco’s manufacturing capacity for aluminum lighting and utility poles while complementing the company’s headquarters and flagship manufacturing operations in Abingdon, Virginia.

Representatives from the Oklahoma Department of Commerce, Greater Oklahoma City Chamber, The Alliance for Economic Development of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma Manufacturing Alliance, OKC 577 Commerce Park, Pascal Aughtry & Associates, Van Hoose Construction, Cooper Project Advisors, and manufacturer’s rep firm SESCO Lighting joined leadership for the groundbreaking ceremony.
