Casambi Says Its Products Are Less Vulnerable to Tariffs

Noting the negative impact of tariffs on the construction sector, Mark McClear, CEO of Casambi, touted the benefits of the American-made lighting control options offered by Casambi’s ecosystem, which will help partners and customers stay on track, reduce costs, and avoid delays.

According to McClear, Casambi’s wireless control platform is software-driven and hardware-light, making it less vulnerable to tariff increases. The software can be transferred electronically independent of the hardware, so it isn’t subject to tariffs, and features a clean topology requiring fewer imported goods such as hubs, servers, controllers, and their supporting infrastructure such as gang boxes, conduit, pipe, and wire.

“Casambi is built for moments like this,” McClear said. “When external forces disrupt the market, Casambi provides the flexibility our customers need to adapt, stay on schedule, and deliver — without compromising on quality or performance. We’ve proven our resilience in turbulent times before, including during the pandemic, and we’re rising to the occasion once again.”

According to McClear, Casambi’s global ecosystem of partners also offers redundancy across components, meaning customers are never locked into one country of origin or one supplier. And with more partners accelerating their U.S.-based manufacturing, American-made options continue to expand.
