The National Association of Innovative Lighting Distributors (NAILD) and the Lighting Controls Association have collaborated on a new podcast seeking to raise awareness and expertise in lighting controls.

Produced every two weeks for audio listening on popular podcast apps or watching on a dedicated YouTube channel, The Lighting Controls Podcast is hosted by C. Webster Marsh of Penumbra Controls and Ron Kuszmar of Port Lighting Systems. This educational podcast provides a designer’s, supplier’s, and integrator’s take on advanced lighting control technology, application, and other industry issues.

Additional awareness will be generated by a website and social media, producing a digital industry hub for professional dialogue around lighting controls. Industry professionals can subscribe by email or on Apple Podcasts, YouTube, Spotify, Google Podcasts, and other networks by clicking here. The website will also include news and press updates. The show can also be followed on Twitter, InstagramFacebook and Linkedin by searching “The Lighting Controls Podcast”.

“As the leading educational resource for the lighting controls industry, we are thrilled to collaborate with a premier organization like NAILD to expand outreach of controls education in an exciting new format that we believe will enable deeper exploration of key topics,” said Charles Knuffke, LCA Chair and Systems VP & Evangelist for Legrand Wattstopper. “We believe this is important information that will add another layer of depth to our offerings.”

“Most distributors are in the exploration phase of the networked lighting controls revolution. Partnering with LCA, along with the sweeping knowledge of Webster and Ron, gave us the confidence to move forward with this venture,” said Jeff Nefouse, President of NAILD and Vice President of A-M Electric in Kentucky. “If distributors are going to play a key role in the adoption of networked lighting control systems, we need to learn more.”

The first episode aired on October 5 and featured Webster and Ronald discussing the purpose of the show and the scope of the Lighting Controls movement. It is available here and other media outlets. Future episodes will cover a range of issues facing the mass adoption of advanced lighting controls systems and include subject matter experts and industry insiders.
