LightFair organizers will waive the admission fee to its exhibit hall in effort to bolster attendance for its October 25-29 in-person event at the Javits Center in New York City. Among the hurdles impacting participation and attendance at the show are the rising COVID-19 positivity rates, reduced travel activity nationwide, and New York City’s mandate that only people who can show proof of being fully vaccinated can dine indoors or attend stage and music performances.

“The LightFair team recognizes that this is an unusual and challenging year for all of our constituents, so we saw it fit to remove any possible barriers to attend,” said Dan Darby, Show Director. “We want to ensure as many industry professionals and designers as possible have the chance to reconnect and conduct in-person conversations at LightFair. Without having to take into consideration the cost of attendance, the lighting industry can more seamlessly get back to business.”

Removing the cost of admission to LightFair’s trade show portion will allow New York City’s sizable design community to affordably experience the innovations in lighting, design, and technology LightFair is known for first-hand. There will be curated tours to help them navigate the show floor, panels featuring NYCxDesign, WILD – Women in Design + Lighting, and LightFair mentors and mentees, new exhibitor giveaways, and more on the show floor. For more information on exhibitors and amenities at the trade show here, go here.

To control the foot traffic on the exhibit floor and maintain safety protocols, registration is required. Click here to register.

Admission to the Conference portion of LightFair – which gives access to 35+ accredited CEU educational sessions across 6 tracks over five days – will still cost between $90 and $1,495, depending on the access chosen. LightFair Conference attendees can choose access ranging from 2 days, 1 day, daily workshops, 90-minute sessions, and 60-minute sessions. Full conference information and pricing is available here.

LightFair is working closely with the Javits Center to stay up-to-date on health and safety recommendations and guidelines from the CDC and New York State. The full “Safer Floor. Safer Show.” protocols are here.
