LINX 800

Costa Mesa, Calif.-based LINX Lighting + Controls has added to its executive leadership team with the appointment of David Komonosky, LEED AP, as Principal. Widely regarded an influential and forward‑thinking leader in the architectural lighting and controls industry, Komonosky’s appointment marks a pivotal moment for LINX.

With more than 30 years of industry experience, Komonosky brings a combination of technical expertise, entrepreneurial success, and deep‑rooted relationships across the specification, contractor, and distribution channels. He has earned a reputation for building high‑performing teams, elevating partner engagement, and shaping market direction.

“David is not just a hire — he is a transformational force,” said Matt Sedlock, Principal at LINX. “His leadership, vision, and industry experience will accelerate our trajectory and strengthen our position as a premier lighting and controls agency in Southern California. This is a defining moment for LINX.”

Komonosky graduated from Penn State University with a degree in Architectural, followed by early technical roles including Project Engineer at Syska & Hennessy. He later held key sales leadership positions with several lighting manufacturers before embarking on entrepreneurial ventures such as establishing two successful lighting representative agencies, which continue to thrive today.

In 2023, Komonosky was honored as the SoCal Illumination Award Honoree by the Illuminating Engineering Society’s Los Angeles Section, recognizing his contributions to the region’s uniquely sophisticated lighting design community. His reflections at the event underscored his high regard for Southern California’s diverse ecosystem of architectural, theatrical, and film/TV lighting professionals.

Joining LINX Lighting + Controls as principal, he will collaborate closely with the leadership team to guide culture, strengthen relationships, expand strategic partnerships, and drive growth across all segments of the business.

“LINX brings together a full range of products, technologies, and expertise that touches every corner of the built environment,” said Komonosky. “This is a full‑circle moment for me — an opportunity to bring together everything I’ve learned and everything I’m passionate about. I’m energized by the team, the vision, and the chance to help shape what comes next.”

Komonosky joins LINX following the merger of Western Lighting & Energy Controls and Forman & Associates, forming one of the largest and most comprehensive lighting and controls agencies in Southern California. With offices across Los Angeles, Orange County, and San Diego, LINX represents a powerful portfolio of brands and a commitment to service, integrity, and long‑term partnership.

“David brings an energy and expertise that pushes our team – and our goals – even further,” said Nick Forman, LINX Principal. “Together, we are building a company that is built to last-one that will set the standard for excellence in Southern California.”
