Eureka’s Mika Boosts Output, Expands Options
Eureka’s Mika family received a series of updates that increase performance, broaden aesthetic options, and streamline specification across multiple mounting types. The classic frosted‑globe luminaire now delivers significantly higher output, with lumen performance increased by 140% across the collection. In addition, the family now includes four sphere sizes – 8″, 12″, 16″, and a new 20″ diameter – each using the same improved light engines to maintain consistent illumination when multiple sizes are installed together.
The expansion of Mika also includes new RGBW‑enabled versions. Mika Colors allows the globe to be programmed to display any color within the RGBW spectrum, while Mika Gradient divides the sphere into two independently controlled hemispheres, enabling distinct color settings that blend smoothly across the globe. These RGBW engines are mounted on custom aluminum heatsinks to support thermal performance and color consistency.
Eureka also introduced a new family of decorative shades – Mika Flare – in aluminum or acrylic. Aluminum shades are available in 14 colors, including a new anodized silver, while acrylic shades come in retro‑inspired amber or green. At their largest, Mika Flare shades span up to 42″ in diameter, supporting large‑scale decorative installations.
Installation options vary by model. Surface versions use a twist‑and‑lock mounting system with concealed fasteners and a deep junction box included with the fixture. Pendant versions suspend from clear field‑adjustable cables and offer magnetic canopies with no visible fasteners, available in standard or slim profiles. All diffusers are made from impact‑resistant rotomolded MDPE, providing uniform illumination and durability across the family.
