ETC Powers and Controls LED Fixtures with New Driver System

ETC F-Drive RX

ETC has developed a groundbreaking centralized LED driver system that redefines how architectural and commercial lighting installations are powered and maintained. Designed for maximum versatility, the F-Drive RX can drive a wide range of LED fixtures using standard Cat6 cable — eliminating the need for high-voltage conduit and dramatically simplifying installation and maintenance.

The F-Drive RX is a 2U rack-mounted solution capable of driving and controlling LED fixtures that require constant current or constant voltage and is a natural partner to ETC’s Navis LED fixtures. F-Drive RX uses DMX or sACN to receive commands and features 10 hot-swappable output cards, allowing for a total output capacity of 2800 W. F-Drive RX offers unmatched flexibility for lighting designers, specifiers, and facility managers alike. A 1U power supply, available in 1800 W or 2800 W versions, supports the F-Drive RX.

“F-Drive RX is a game-changer for large-scale lighting installations,” said Simon Willeman, Power Controls Product Manager at ETC. “By using Cat6 cable for both power and control, we’re not just simplifying installation—we’re empowering designers and facilities teams to think bigger, move faster, and maintain systems more easily than ever before.”

The F-Drive RX is compatible with ETC’s Concert software and features an onboard UI for easy local configuration, whether pre-programmed or on-site.

Features

  • Centralized Control: One rack can manage dozens to hundreds of fixtures, eliminating the need for difficult to access drivers in ceilings or walls.
  • Cat6 Cable Power Delivery: Low-voltage Cat6 cable replaces traditional high-voltage wiring, reducing labor costs and eliminating the need for conduit.
  • Emergency Integration: UL 924 compliance allows for seamless integration into emergency lighting systems.
  • Hot-Swappable Output Cards: Supports a wide range of LED types with output cards for Constant Current, Constant Voltage, Fade to Warm, and the upcoming Navis Chroma family of fixtures.
  • Simple Maintenance: It’s low voltage nature means facilities staff can perform updates and replacements when needed without electricians or lockout/tagout procedures.
