Focal Point Adds Compact 2.5-Inch Cylinders to ID+ Portfolio
Building on the versatility of its ID+ family, Focal Point has introduced 2.5-inch Pure Cylinders, a series of compact architectural luminaires engineered to deliver coordinated aesthetics, visual comfort, and specification flexibility across commercial, hospitality, and residential applications.
Designed to pair seamlessly with ID+ 2.5-inch downlights, the cylinders share LEDs, optics, and finishes to create a cohesive lighting package while expanding the range of available form factors. The slender fixtures are designed to perform across a variety of ceiling heights and conditions, making them suitable for projects requiring a consistent visual language throughout an interior.
Available in nominal heights of 5, 8, and 12 inches, the cylinders can be configured with surface, cord, fixed-stem, or swivel-stem mounting options. Field-cuttable stem configurations and compatibility with sloped ceilings further extend design and installation flexibility, allowing the luminaires to adapt to a broad range of architectural environments.
The addition significantly expands the optical capabilities available within the ID+ family. Designers can select beam spreads ranging from narrow flood to super wide flood, spanning 20° to 80°, as well as a dedicated wall wash optic for vertical illumination. Downlight configurations are offered with either a 60° or 75° cutoff, balancing illumination performance with occupant comfort.
Focal Point also offers several glare-control solutions. Deep cutoffs can be paired with a Solite lens that conceals the light source, while optional honeycomb-shaped hex louvers block high-angle side light. The result is a Unified Glare Rating (UGR) of less than 5.
Performance options range from 500 to 1,900 lumens in 200-lumen increments, with color temperatures from 2700K to 4000K and CRI options of 80+, 90+, and 97+. Warm Dim technology is available in two ranges, 2700K-to-1800K and 3000K-to-1800K, allowing the luminaires to emulate the familiar dimming characteristics of traditional incandescent and halogen sources.
