Landscape Forms Offers Breakthrough in Off-Grid Solar Lighting

Landscape Forms

Landscape Forms has announced the launch of 360 Solar, an innovative off-the-grid solar lighting solution developed in collaboration with Netherlands-based FlexSol Lighting Solutions. 360 Solar represents a major advancement in solar lighting, seamlessly integrating cutting-edge technology with a refined aesthetic to bring high-performance illumination to virtually any location—without the need for grid power.

“360 Solar is the result of a natural synergy between two companies driven by shared passion for innovation and sustainability,” says Lennert van den Berg, CEO of FlexSol Lighting Solutions. “Our cylindrical solar technology is engineered for resilience and efficiency, optimizing energy capture while maintaining a sleek, modern form. The result is a system that delivers exceptional performance in the broadest range of environmental conditions.”

With its distinctly cylindrical wrap-around solar array, 360 Solar is a revolutionary departure from conventional solar installations. The system’s highly efficient solar cells are fused to a tempered glass sleeve that wraps around the vertical pole, maximizing solar absorption from multiple angles throughout the day. This design not only enhances efficiency but also improves durability, making 360 Solar resistant to environmental factors like wind, dust, and snow accumulation.

“We strive to offer solutions that are visually compelling, perform, and contribute something more to the space than simply the provision of light,” says Jordan Agustin, President of Lighting at Landscape Forms. “360 Solar is a game-changer—offering off-grid, self-managed solar-powered lighting that looks beautiful and performs at a high level. 360 Solar represents the turning point of solar technology integration in high-design, performance luminaires without the aesthetic downsides commonly associated with solar technology. 360 Solar is an ideal solution for off-grid locations, brownfield redevelopments, as part of resiliency initiatives, or upgrades to existing, high use locations.”

Beyond its advanced solar panel design, 360 Solar features an intelligent autonomous control system powered by edge computing and an integrated GPS locator. The system continuously adapts to its environment, optimizing energy usage based on real-time solar conditions. A self-learning protocol ensures optimal performance without requiring manual adjustments or external apps, simplifying deployment for designers and architects.

360 Solar is designed for diverse applications, from remote natural areas and brownfield redevelopment sites to waterfronts, urban parks, and maritime environments. It supports a variety of Landscape Forms luminaire styles—including Ashbery, Northport, Torres, and LEO—ensuring broad design flexibility. The system’s modular capabilities also allow for the stacking of solar arrays for added power generation, while enabling support for high-wattage luminaires and auxiliary devices like security cameras and Wi-Fi access points.

“With 360 Solar, we’re proving that sustainability and design are not mutually exclusive,” Agustin adds. “By integrating intelligent technology with advanced solar efficiency, we’re delivering an infinitely versatile lighting solution that aligns with the needs of designers and their clients—brining efficiency, resiliency, and beauty where no traditional luminaire ever could.”
