USAI Lighting’s Small In One – Mini Packs High Output into Compact Install‑From‑Below Design
USAI Lighting introduced its Small In One – Mini, a compact recessed fixture engineered to eliminate the compromises that typically come with install‑from‑below applications. Designed to preserve ceiling aesthetics while delivering true specification‑grade performance, the platform combines downlight, adjustable, and wall‑wash capabilities in a form factor under four inches tall.
At the core of the system is USAI’s patented two‑part heat sink, a thermal architecture developed to maintain high output and long‑term stability in a compact housing. This design enables the fixture to deliver more than 2,000 lumens and up to 40 degrees of tilt while still installing from below the ceiling plane.

Small In One – Mini is built to work with ceilings up to 2 inches thick and requires a minimal plenum height of just 5 1/8 inches. Beam spreads range from an extra‑narrow 10 degrees to wide distributions, along with a uniform wall‑wash option for vertical illumination. The fixture also supports onsite optical adjustments, allowing contractors to fine‑tune beam distribution and visual comfort using a range of accessories.
USAI also offers two trim styles to match project intent. The Bevel trim provides a refined 3‑inch presence in round or square forms, while the Pinhole trim offers a discreet 2‑inch aperture for a more minimal look. Both are available in trimmed, trimless, and millwork options.
