Casambi Expands Salvador Series Wired Controller for US Market

Casambi Salvador Series 3000

Casambi is pleased to announce the launch the latest model in the Salvador Series, the Salvador 3016, which is now available for the North American market.

The Salvador Series introduces a groundbreaking wired controller that enables luminaires to be individually addressed, programmed, controlled, and monitored through the Casambi app. This breakthrough enables rapid remote commissioning and control of wired installations and supports the creation of hybrid networks that combine wired fixtures with wireless Casambi Ready products – accommodating any preferred lighting device type. Break free from restrictive proprietary systems and explore new horizons in lighting control.

Expanding the Casambi experience in the US to wired control installations

The Salvador Series 3000 is specifically designed for the North American market to address the limitations of traditional lighting control systems prevalent in the US today. While the Salvador Series 1000 and 2000 cater to markets where the DALI standard is widely adopted (providing full compatibility with DALI D4i, DALI DT6, and DALI DT8), the US primarily relies on proprietary analog or 0-10V dimming systems, which are outdated and inefficient. Although DALI offers better dimming performance, it hasn’t gained widespread use in the US due to a lack of suppliers, components, and expertise for commissioning DALI systems.

The Casambi Salvador Series 3000 addresses these challenges by providing a very simple and efficient way to integrate wired luminaires into its wireless lighting control ecosystem, effectively leveraging the benefits of DALI and surpassing them with additional advanced features; ease of commissioning and seamless access to Casambi ecosystem partners.  By integrating with the Casambi ecosystem, users gain access to a broad network of partners and compatible products, allowing for a flexible and future-proof lighting infrastructure that can easily scale and adapt to evolving needs.

A single Salvador 3016 unit can connect up to 16 DALI drivers, offering a powerful and cost-effective solution for pulling wired luminaires into a Casambi network. The module’s compact design is optimized for US installations and includes a built-in 32 mA power supply, eliminating the need for an additional power source. This innovation removes the need for specialized engineers onsite for manual addressing and complex configuration. It also supports hybrid networks, allowing wired and wireless devices to coexist, enhancing flexibility and ease of use. With the Casambi app, users can precisely control and adjust lighting in a multitude of ways, unlocking advanced features for more refined and customized lighting management.

A solution for complying with energy efficiency regulations

The Salvador Series not only provides a cost-effective control solution but also complies with US regulations, including ASHRAE 90.1-2022, which sets comprehensive energy efficiency standards for building design and construction to reduce energy consumption and enhance sustainability. This regulation mandates Luminaire Level Lighting Control, and the Salvador Series provides the most affordable, straightforward, and sustainable way to meet this requirement, delivering optimal illumination on a need-only basis at the source.

Simple, powerful, and versatile

The Salvador Series offers US lighting professionals a solution that significantly expands their options by allowing any lighting product to integrate with Casambi. This makes smart lighting control more accessible in a market stifled by vendor-locked proprietary systems.

“The Salvador 3016 makes it easier than ever to bring Casambi control to wired DALI installations. A single unit replaces multiple standalone controllers, greatly simplifying retrofits. Whether upgrading, expanding, or creating hybrid systems, this product offers the flexibility, simplicity, and power to manage both wired and wireless lighting networks from one feature-rich interface – unlocking immense potential for smart lighting control,” said Mark McClear, CEO of Casambi.
