Lodes’ Tidal Brings Fluid, Indirect Light to Modern Interiors
The new Tidal from Lodes brings a sculptural, wave‑driven profile into a compact sconce built for clean installation and consistent performance. Its die‑cast aluminum body, designed in collaboration with Needs Studio, forms a continuous ring with soft, shifting curves that echo the motion of water, creating a fixture that changes subtly depending on the viewer’s angle.
The fixture’s indirect distribution is shaped by the wider and narrower sections of the ring, producing a balanced upward and downward wash that maintains comfort in corridors, transition zones and active interior spaces. With the LED source fully concealed, the fixture avoids the harsh forward throw common in shallow sconces. The result is a controlled, ambient effect that supports both decorative and functional lighting needs.
Material consistency and finish quality play a central role in the design. The powder‑coated surfaces – matte white, matte black, terra and champagne – hold uniformity across multiple units, important for long runs in hospitality, multifamily and commercial interiors. The die‑cast construction provides stability, and the compact footprint keeps the fixture tight to the wall with no visible hardware. Installation remains straightforward through a simple surface‑mount plate, reducing variables during placement.
Tidal’s output and CCT options allow it to integrate into varied lighting plans without complicating specifications. The LED package supports long‑term reliability, and the fixture’s geometry ensures that the sculptural form remains the visual focus while the light stays controlled and comfortable.
