Inventronics Designs Next-Generation LED Lighting Surge Protection Device

Inventronics announces the launch of its latest surge protection device (SPD) designed for LED lighting fixtures. With a surge current rating of 5kA, the PU-10Kx05KBxA offers robust protection against transient overvoltages, safeguarding sensitive lighting fixtures from damage.

LED lighting fixtures have longer lifetime and better performance compared to traditional lighting fixtures. However, when used in outdoor applications, the power grid is susceptible to lightning induction effects that can negatively impact the fixture and reduce the operating lifetime. The PU-10Kx05KBxA SPD empowers LED drivers by enhancing the surge withstand capability of the LED fixture. The device overcomes the challenges of AC withstand voltage testing, high replacement costs, and insufficient internal status monitoring.

The PU-10Kx05KBxA complies with international standards for surge protective devices, ensuring compatibility and interoperability with existing electrical systems and equipment.

Key features of the PU-10Kx05KBxA include:

  • High Surge Current Handling
  • 10kV Maximum Continuous Operating Voltage (MCOV)
  • Compact and Durable Design
  • Compliance with International Standards
