DMF’s True 1 Unleashes Powerful 1K+ Lumens from 1″ Aperture

DMF Lighting True 1 downlight

Measuring at a true 1-inch lower inner diameter, the True 1 downlight utilizes an advanced three-stage optical system to deliver more than 1,000 lumens with exceptional glare control – outstanding performance from a remarkably small aperture. The result is a sophisticated lighting solution that offers superior performance, flexibility, ease of installation and serviceability compared to other small-aperture downlights on the market.

DMF Lighting’s latest modular evolution centers on a high-performance changeable cartridge system, allowing for effortless onsite adjustments to both optics and correlated color temperature (CCT). By decoupling the light engine components from the fixed architecture, the design continues DMF’s modular story in this new application and ensures precision aiming and flexibility during commissioning.

Furthering this commitment to streamlined maintenance, the system features a DC-to-DC Driver (DC Regulator) that is fully serviceable at the ceiling plane. This innovative configuration allows for driver replacement or upgrades directly from below, eliminating the need to break into the ceiling and significantly reducing long-term labor costs.

True 1 downlight modules are available in both fixed and adjustable configurations, with the adjustable version offering 360-degree rotation and an industry leading 35-degree lockable tilt for precise aiming. Optics are available in 30-, 40-, 50-degree distributions, enabling designers to tailor illumination to a wide range of applications. Color temperature options range from 2400K to 4000K and include Warm Dim all with a 93+ CRI for exceptional color rendering.

Every detail of the True 1 is meticulously engineered to achieve the “quiet ceiling” aesthetic, prioritizing architectural purity over visual clutter. By moving to a specialized polycarbonate construction, the trims offer a seamless, lightweight integration that disappears into the ceiling plane.

In a deliberate departure from traditional multicolor palettes, the True 1 is offered exclusively in a precision-tuned black finish. This singular focus ensures maximum glare control and visual absorption, allowing the architecture to shine while the light source remains virtually invisible.
