American Lighting’s Spec Grade RGB+TW Tape Light Delivers Color, Control

american lighting spec grade tape light

American Lighting’s Spec Grade RGB + Wide Range Tunable White Tape Light pairs saturated RGB mixing with tunable white from 1800K to 6000K, allowing crews to meet diverse lighting requirements without switching platforms.

Designed for DMX‑controlled environments, the tape light integrates 3‑in‑1 RGB LEDs with alternating dedicated white LEDs at 1800K, 3000K, and 6000K. This architecture ensures smooth blending, consistent output and the ability to shift from immersive color to high‑quality task illumination without swapping products or compromising visual continuity. With output up to 385 lumens per foot at 7 watts per foot, it delivers impactful performance while maintaining energy efficiency.

The 12mm low‑profile design supports tight channels and compact architectural details, and the tape is cuttable every 3.94 inches with a maximum run length of 13.1 feet. Installation is straightforward thanks to 3M VHB adhesive backing, giving contractors a secure, clean mounting method across a wide range of profiles and surfaces.

For advanced control, the tape light pairs with American Lighting’s 6 Channel DMX Decoder, enabling precise DMX 512 and RDM control of RGB, tunable white, and dimming functions. The decoder supports both 8‑bit and 16‑bit resolution for smooth fades and transitions and offers RJ45, XLR and direct‑wire connectivity for flexible integration. When paired with a compatible 12–24V DC driver, it can operate in standalone or decoder modes.

Rated for dry and damp locations, the tape light carries an IP54 nano‑coating protective layer and is cULus Listed. It performs in temperatures from 5°C to 70°C and has a rated life of more than 50,000 hours, reinforcing American Lighting’s focus on durable, professional‑grade solutions for demanding architectural applications.
