Artisan Orb Elevates Design Lighting with Hand‑Blown Precision

Coronet LED Artisan Orb

Coronet LED’s new Artisan Orb expands the company’s architectural portfolio with a luminaire that merges studio‑grade artistry and engineered consistency. Developed in collaboration with Los Angeles artist Ivan Lee Mora of Obsydian Studios, the pendant debuts at NeoCon 2026 as Coronet’s first artist partnership and a signal of growing demand for decorative lighting that pairs craft with technical rigor.

Designed for hospitality, residential and commercial interiors, the Artisan Orb delivers decorative presence with architectural‑grade performance, offering designers a specifiable piece that balances craft, atmosphere and technical reliability.

The pendant begins with molten clear glass layered with white glass to achieve a luminous semiopaque finish. Once the opacity is set, the material is pressed into custom optical molds that form one of three surface patterns, then shaped by hand using traditional glassblowing techniques. The process relies on precise control of heat, airflow and gravity, resulting in a form that is technically consistent yet unmistakably handmade.

Across all three patterns, the textured glass modulates output to create depth rather than a flat glow. The 12‑point vertical linear texture offers a restrained architectural look. The 24‑point version increases frequency for more active light play. The pineapple crosshatch introduces a faceted, jewel‑like surface that refracts and diffuses light in layered ways.

Behind the glass, the luminaire is built with aluminum‑core LED boards, specifiable color temperatures and a CRI above 90. Pendant and wall‑mount configurations are available in 6‑ and 11‑inch diameters, with remote dimmable drivers and multiple control options including 0–10V, ELV, TRIAC, DALI, PoE and DMX. The fixture is Build America, Buy America (BABA) compliant, with prototypes sculpted in Los Angeles and production handled by Glow Glass Studio in Oakland using locally sourced materials and molds fabricated in Washington state.
