ELCO Lighting Releases Poplar™ Modular LED Lighting System

ELCO

ELCO Lighting has launched its  Poplar™ System, a modular LED lighting system designed for performance, versatility, and ease of installation. The Poplar System allows users to have more than 650 options with fewer than 50 SKUs. Available in a variety of sizes and styles for new construction and remodeling, the module easily twists-on into a variety of trims and fits into a wide variety of housing.

The launch comes on the heels of a significant victory for ELCO in its longstanding legal dispute with dmf Lighting. ELCO Lighting successfully invalidated Claim 17 of dmf’s U.S. Patent No. 9,964,266 — a patent associated with dmf’s M Series and their DRD2 & DRD4 LED modules. dmf appealed the decision, but the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit rejected their arguments and affirmed the invalidation of the patent claim– marking a final and definitive win for ELCO Lighting.

In addition, the U.S. District Court ruled that ELCO Lighting is entitled to recover litigation costs from dmf after dmf rejected multiple offers that were considered more favorable than the final outcome of the case. This ruling further reinforces ELCO Lighting’s position and highlights the company’s commitment to fair competition and innovation in the lighting industry.

The launch of the Poplar System exemplifies ELCO Lighting’s continued focus on engineering excellence and delivering forward-thinking lighting solutions built to meet the evolving needs of the market.

The Poplar System utilizes a single module that boasts 120-277V input, Triac/ELV/0-10V dimming down to 1%, lumen, wattage and color temperature selectable and compatible with 4” and 6” housing and Poplar trims.
