Hydrel Launches Wide Lateral Distribution Luminaires for Pathways and Steps

Hydrel Wander family

Hydrel, from Acuity Brands, has announced the introduction of its Wander luminaire. Wander is a broad family of luminaires with multiple mounting options to provide visual continuity for pathways, steps, and surface lighting applications.

Wander is uniquely designed to provide a wide lateral distribution that meets IES egress requirements from up to 25 feet on-center fixture spacings. The luminaire also meets the most demanding IES requirements for indoor/outdoor pool decks, the perimeter of rooftop terraces and pathway lighting for urban environments, commercial or seaside applications. And with no visible hardware, and attractive aesthetics, it integrates seamlessly into its surroundings.

With a proprietary precision light source, the high-performing luminaire offers three tailored distributions – ranging from very wide lateral spread to long forward distribution with no striations or color separation. Designed to provide more coverage, outdoor spaces can be lit with fewer luminaires.

Pedestal, semi-recessed and surface mount options are available. The pedestal mount is easy to install and comes in two fixture heights, 22 inches and 38 inches, with a single or dual head configuration.

The semi-recessed and surface mount options can be mounted downward for pathway and step applications or upward facing for indirect lighting applications. All mounts are available with either a single optic or three optic configurations to ensure properly lit pathways, and the perimeter of buildings and steps.

Wander features multiple ratings to contribute to a high quality lighting solution in even the toughest conditions: IP67 for superior water resistance, IK10 for impact resistance, ADA compliant and BUG U0 as a full cut-off fixture.

The luminaire may be selected in static white, amber 590nm, red, blue, or green and delivers from 300 to 1500 lumens, depending on the options chosen.

All Hydrel luminaires are assembled in America and comply with the Buy America(n) Act (BAA) government procurement requirements under FAR, DFARS, and DOT.
